Welcome to BSNL's New Messaging System. In case you face any problem in logging in or have any other mail related problems, please call to local node-incharges. Please follow these guidelines for smooth working of your email services.
  1. Keep changing the password frequently, and do not use simple, easy to remember or easy to guess passwords. It is for your email security.
  2. To Access mails by POPMAIL (e.g. outlook express, Thunderbird, Eudora etc.) use
    1. SMTP Server : smtp.bsnl.co.in
    2. POP server : mail.bsnl.co.in
    3. In the mail user name give userid with domain name e.g xyz@bsnl.co.in
    4. Do not select SSL option as this facility is not supported.
    5. Do select "My server requires authentication" option.
  3. In case you prefer to use Webmail, then it is advisable to use Folders to manage different types of emails in your inbox. Just create folders and create appropriate Message filters so that mails of particular nature go automatically to the designated folders. This will also keep your Inbox light and you will get better and faster response. In case you want to sync folders in webmail and in the client, you can use IMAP option in case of PoP. This is definitely possible.
  4. In case you face any problem in logging in or have any other mail related problem, please send query through email to mailadmin@bsnl.co.in, dnw_sdene1@bsnl.in and aksingh@bsnl.co.in. Please mention your contact number and identify your self in the email.
  5. Do not unnecessary create mail forwarding settings in your webmail as it increase mail traffic and sometimes create mail looping.
  6. Circle Administrators have responsibility of managing the email accounts of officers in their Circle. Security of administration user id and password is the responsibility of the Circle Administrator. They are advised to keep the password changing frequently and do not use simple, easy to remember or easy to guess passwords. It is for email security of all officers of the Circle. Recently we have noticed some changes in some of the user profiles for generating spam emails. Such activities can easily be avoided by keeping email and administrator password safe and secure.
